After I got home today 6 maybe 7 CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopters took off in a northerly direcction.

With clouds moving in I won't be able to get return  pics

Here are 3 pics of a Miramar based CH-53 helo taken with my new Tamron 200-500 lens. I also bought a EOS-50D Canon Camera.

Pics are kinda into the direction of the sun.

Wow. I did not know that Bob Archer passed away.  RIP.

Back in the day, I rode my ten-speed over to his hobby shop in Fountain Valley to see all of the Bob Moore "Liqua-Plate" specials (various Sutcliffe and other vacuforms with the metallizing paint - one was a TU-126 Moss in 1/72nd scale). 

Bob Archer also wrote an early and quite good book on the F-105, and much later did a books on Edwards Open Houses 1957-66 and on LAX from the mid-fifties to the early eighties.

My dad, who works close to Miramar, has informed me that there are Ospreys doing pattern work at Miramar now.
