I was at SeaWorld on the Skytower today when i saw what looked like a C-17 (from my distance) flying into KSAN.  Drove home past the airport on the I-5 and saw a IL-76 parked at the FBO!!!  Never seen one of those at KSAN.  Looked it up on Flightaware and it came in from Keflavik in Iceland (possible just a stop over from somewhere in Europe.  I wonder what it was doing there?

Thanks for the tip-- I got it this morning leaving KSAN, along with a 908 AW C-130 out of Maxwell.  The IL-76 was headed to Hawaii, not sure where the C-130 was coming from/going to.

Awesome!  Forgot to mention that the C-130 was parked there also.  Can't wait to see the shots!

Great catches.  Do you know what the 76 was dropping off.  Thats the one we got at LAX.

KSAN was using runway 9 for most of the weekend again.  Serious crosswinds meant the jets were crabbing a lot to make the runway.

With my Sony Alpha 550 it has live view on the LCD and a flip screen...basically it enables me to put my camera up over my head and the fence.

Another batch from Harbor drive over the fence.  First, i've never seen Republic fly into KSAN.  Also the little Bombardier Challenger wasn't that special but i still snapped it up.  It was only later when i went to look at my photos that the tail logo caught my eye.  Long story short the GR tail number stands for Goodrich, my employer!  Maybe not so impressive to others but i still found it ironic that i was there at that exact time.  Anyways enjoy.

FYI, I'm sure most who shoot regularly at KSAN already now this, but this Wednesday (6pm) is the return of the British Airways 777!!!! .  I'll be at Harbor drive if anyone wants to come out.
