Well here it is, after may years the mighty triple seven has returned to KSAN!!!  Went down to the usually spot, and the word was out.  There was about 100 folks packed around a tiny little 6 car parking lot.  You would have thought the POTUS was flying in or something, that's how starved for the heavies we are.

yes, another BA 777 picture...but look straight down from the nose gear check out the Aegis cruiser hauling out, that's a serious wake behind her

Realbigtaco

nice stuff SBGrad, Where are you shooting those with the bay in the background?

...another day, another trip out to KSAN to catch the 777 from another location.  I've made 5 of 9 arrivals so far.

Damon, look for the Phantom!

LOL! I see it and what looks to be condos getting tented for termites. ;D   So then BA 777 is now a regular then at Lindberg now?

Ha ha!  Yes, those are the ultra posh condos at 'The Landing' in Coronado-- I live there and I didn't even know they were being tented until I saw this picture!

After an 8 year hiatus, BA just restarted London-San Diego direct flights on June 1st.  So now KSAN has a daily flight with something bigger than the FedEx DC-10s and the 767s that fly here.

Where's the best planespotting locations @ KSAN?  I'm heading down there this weekend, and would love to take some pics with the harbor or downtown in the background.  thanks!

I've never shot from here, but if you want to get the city in the background you can go to the Palm st Pedestrian bridge

If you are looking for other spots, here is something i wrote up a few years back.

and one more good place to go is at the departure end on liberty station:

yet another BA 777 shot.  Used the 24mm prime here, but it was just a bit too much lens for the shot I really wanted, might have to try the 11-16 next time.
