I'll be heading over to BJ's corner maybe around 9 or 10 this morning.  My father in law gave me a radio scanner.  I've been dying to test it out. :D  I wonder, what are the best frequencies to tune into for Plant 42?

Good Luck-- My experience has been there is very little if any transmissions between the tower and aircraft. The Freq's are posted on the net and are public knowledge.  I would pick a popular public airport and program the tower and ground traffic -- it can be fun!!
You only live once so shoot twice

Caught Spirit of Arizona this morning (4 passes), a Tacamo bird right before that, and Beale U-2 68-0331 as well as the usual Channel Island Hercs and a VFA-125 Hornet.

I saw the B2 take off from about a mile away from the Barnes and Noble on 10th west.  Just as I was getting to BJ's I saw the U2 take off.  I was only there for a few minutes.  Nice captures!

Thanks! A NASA ER-2, the white one w the weird black striping, went out in the early afternoon. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for its return. Hopefully SOMEBODY got it.

This may be the wrong thread and sorry for the quality, These were shot with a canon video camera and then shot with a camera phone from the TV.. I was out in Palmdale near Plant 42 on Saturday June 12th. I noticed these strange objects floating in the sky. When zoomed in and watching the video they look like they were rotating counterclockwise. Have any of you in the area seen these before. They seemed to be floating and then they would move quickly to hide behind the clouds. Here are some of the pictures.

Pic 1255 - About 8 hanging around the clouds. Some completely still. Others playing hide and seek!
Pic 1251 - One more coming in and out of clouds! These things are fast!
Pic 1305 - Zoom at 50% hiding near clouds and just floating!

Cool shots Jim, I was there over near the musem whilst the E-2C was hanging around having just got there for my first ever Palmdale visit-was bummed that the museum was closed (open fri-sun only!) so prob won't rush out that far agian! Do you-or anyone else have any I/D of the T-33 & F-117 on poles just inside the plant?

Not sure about the T-33 but I remember hearing once that the Nighthawk is a "mutt" being made up of parts from many aircraft.

Barry, there also is an F-104 in there next to the guard gate/gift shop.  Glad you got your APSC polo and have fun up north.
