Thursday morning looks good for me, but now I need to know where to go. I don't know where "the hill" is. Many years ago there was a hill I used to visit on the West end of the North runway, but it's now all fenced off.

Hey Wolf, I see you live in Torrance.... Since you are coming from the South... Hop on "Sepulveda North" bound and on "Imperial HWY" make a LEFT then on "Main ST" you are going to make another LEFT and then a quick LEFT turn again on "Imperial AVE" go up until you see a US Flag on your left hand side.

LAX Lot B may be better for the arrivals.  You get 2H of parking for free there.

I wonder how long the A380 rollout will be?
She may never get to the hill and just pull right up to Flightpath instead.

Then again, I think they towed her last time over to Flight Path infront of the hill.  Will they taxi her this time?

Probably go Wed while they have the media tours as it will probably be at the museum then.  After work.  Going to ask to get off early.

Hi Wolf, I think I know the Hill you speak of and it was nice there just off Pershing, but yes it close to all traffic and pedestrians.  :-\.  Been closed since 9-11.

Public Viewing Sites for Airbus A380 Landing at LAX Announced
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 27, 2007) - In anticipation of possible lunch-time crowds to view the return of the Airbus A380 super jumbo jet to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this week, airport officials announced recommended sites on airport property where the landing may be viewed by the public.

The aircraft is scheduled to land at 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, on the south side of the airport and taxi to the Flight Path Learning Center/LAX Imperial Terminal.

Following are recommended viewing sites for the landing -- all located on LAX property:

--  Proud Bird Restaurant located at 11022 Aviation Blvd. between Century
Blvd. and Imperial Highway; phone (310) 670-3093.
--  Encounter Restaurant in the iconic LAX Theme Building at 209 World Way
in the heart of the LAX passenger terminal area; phone (310) 215-5151.
--  LAX Economy Lot B at 111th Street and La Cienega Blvd.  Parking is
free for the first two hours and $1 for each additional two hours or
    fraction thereof.
There are no recommended viewing sites on airport property along Imperial Highway on the south side of the airport. Vehicles will not be allowed to park along Westchester Parkway on the north side of the airport, where one cannot clearly view the aircraft landing on the south airfield. All traffic and parking rules will be enforced by law enforcement officials from the various jurisdictions in and around LAX.

The Flight Path Learning Center and adjacent airport property will be closed to the public all day on Wednesday, Nov. 28 and Thursday, Nov. 29, as well as the morning of Friday, Nov. 30, for private events related to the A380. The center will reopen to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.

The aircraft is scheduled to takeoff and land for a demonstration flight on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively. It is scheduled to depart LAX for Sydney, Australia on Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 a.m. These flight operations will occur on LAX's south runway complex. Viewers may park at Dockweiler Beach, owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, to see the aircraft taking off overhead.
