Nice catch David. I was there at the Cabrillo National Monument on the 4th. of July. Very nice place to visit. Would you happen to know when the departure and arrival times of the carriers are?

For Carriers on So Cal Ops Departure and Arrival times are generally never announced publically. IN the case of ship leaving on a major deployment or returning from a deployment those times are announced 24 hours in advance Such as was with the USS Carl VInson CVN-70 That departure was announced 36 hours in advance of the NOvember 30 departure. I posted pics in the North Island tread and on my Facebook page.

from last August, M/Y A, one of the 10 largest private yachts in the world, larger than a WWII Fletcher class DD

phantomphan1974

I remember seeing that on the news and is a yachts mag.  I think that a smaller boat pops out the side as well and a deck folds out in the rear.

Yah, if you look at the 3rd picture I posted you can see the outlines of the hatch for the 11m long tender (it has 2 of them, one on each side).  I wanted to see the tender come out, but I couldn't hang out all day.

Wow! Who owns that?

The yacht is owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko and is named after his wife Serbian fashion model Aleksandra Nikolic.

Midnight Mover

Even if you won the last lottery it would still not be enough to buy one. $500,000 for gas, I thought my Ford trucks were bad  :o

He also moors that boat off of Malibu from time to time, near the pier I think I last saw it there in September
