I'll be going to the LAX Marriott for a convention this coming weekend.  Hopefully, I'll have enough time to do some spotting.  Where are some close, but good, spots to the Marriot?
If I'm not mistaken, the Marriott is between the runways so if you can get onto the roof, that should be a great spot.  Also, I have not been there since they have reopened the LAX Theme building but that also should be within walking distance.  If driving, both the In-N-Out and imperial hill are epic locations.
you've never lived, until you've almost died. For those who fight for it, freedom has a special flavor the protected will never know.

The theme building observation deck is only open on weekends.

Between the runways.. that's pretty cool.  I wonder if anyone would give me any issues for going up to the roof?  Where would the best spot be for a short-ish lens?  The only one I have is a 28-135 kit.

Its in the center of the airport terminal area, as soon as you drive in look for signs for the Encounter Restaurant park.  I have not been there, so that's all I can suggest.

Just pan with the plane. It's pretty hard to do, you usually only get one of the sequence to come out.
