I think it started about 2:30 ish or so and I was on Woodly just north of Burbank.  Burbank was closed from Sepulveda to Woodly.

Thanks guys!  It was luck that i was attempting to drive by VNY to see if I could shoot those Vegas helos thru fence and had my camera and I could see the smoke rising as I was coming down the 101 Fwy.  Tried calling Skip but I fould it and parked on the northwest side or Woodley near Burbank and shot from there next to nature park.  I could have walked the trail but thought it was safer from the street.  They also had a bulldozer postioned on a trailer bit it never was unloaded.  I think it would have ripped up the nature preserve just trying to get to where the fire was anyway.

Only one Vegas helo is at the Airport....and its inside right now. The other went home.

This one should go home next week , and i hear the 407 is dropping the pilots off.

They did not file any flight plans or at least they were not listed on Flightaware.com
