Nice photo Damon.. ;)
A couple of my recient shots as of 08/11/08 First shot was from Viking Park, second shot from the USS Midway Aircraft Restoration Yard.
Here is a H-60 family helicopter I shot on 7-22-08
Here is a USCG HH-60 Helo today November 13, 2008 at NAS North Island
This H-60 landed at NASNI for a bath and a short flight to dry off.
Another H-60 for a bath.

It's in the right spot, Damon. Look closely around al that yellow paint and you'll see "United States Army" on the tail section. Most likely its Army Reserve. Cal Fire calls upon a Navy Reserve squadon at North Island HS-85. HS-85 usually carries the dipable water bags for fire fighting suppression. NAS North Island Supply has 3 different sizes of those dipable bags in stock. 325 gallon, 350 gallon, and 425 gallon. HS-85 will hook up to their H-60B helos what ever Cal Fire requests them to carry.

Thanks, they are the CA ANG guys at Los Alamitos and I am not sure how many of the Blackhawks have this kit. Probably just a few. I have see photos also if the CH-53's with the Bambi buckets as well for the Nor Cal fires.
There are 5 Army/NG FIREHAWK kits in the Military.
1 Florida
1 Oregon
1 New York
1 Calif.
1 Nevada
California is trying to get 2 more kits......but who knows.

Sweet shots Keith! ;)
Either that one or N135BH is sitting at Corona Airport....as of two weeks ago.
The website is pretty cool too. They merged with Brown and have 3 more that look more military (especially the exhaust) from over seas. Cool paint too!
I got this USCG Jayhawk making and approach to NAS North Islanad.
Its Been a while since this thread has been posted. Here are 5 pics of two SH-60 series helos taking off from NAS North Island on Wednesday 02/11/09
One rolled fixed wing style down runway 29 and the other took off from a lift spot. Both aircraft are from the same squadron.
Pics were taken from Fenway Park
HS-6 SH-60(?)
HH-60H.......VERY cool scheme.
The blue color is tempra paint that can be easily washed off. I have in the past while on active duty, painted F-14 Tomcats with tempra paint to try and disquise them during operations over forrested or desert conditions. Darker colors of tempra paint will leave a slight tint in the low vis paint when the tempra paint is washed off.

Very cool shot Glen. ;)
VX-31 SH-60F at China Lake today.
Nice! Love that paint job.
Great catch Alan! ;)
Hi there, this is my first post so I hope I am doing it right....I painted another Seahawk for the Navy last week,, a brand new MH-60S, had only 37 flight hours on it,,,smelled like a new car. This thing has it all and do anything! multi-roll aircraft.
Was for HSC-12, was HS-2 until next week...The Golden Falcons.
I am going to try and add a photo,,hope it works..have to resize them first!
Flygirl painter!
Here is a picture
Here is anothe rone---it wouldn't let me upload them together,,??
Shayne, glad to see you here! Welcome! I was talking to you with a friend of mine in the early morning at the Hemet-Ryan show... I wanted to come back but unfortunately we didn't get to. I had a commitment with the show organizers and I ended up running all over the place almost non stop. When I got back you guys were packed up and heading out in the Hog.
Guys, you've probably seen her work. The painting Shayne does for the military is LEGENDARY. Just incredible, incredible work. I would love to buy prints of the stuff she does if anyone has any. Just awesome stuff.
OK one more,,sorry they are all separate..I am new at this!
It should let you... great stuff though! As usual. 8)
Which squadron was it with the lightning? That one is one of my favorites.
Hey cool,, glad you like them,,I am off next week to paint HSM-77 Saberhawks,, new Romeo models...
I will put up some of the Indian's I did,, really a neat one...I did them in June. We are gearing up for Big Bear show and Redlands and then Miramar with the Huey..

Is that going to be another North Island unit? Or a long distance trip?
North Island,,,the only waya trips are waiting, but not scheduled yet is an EA6-B Prowler at Whigby Island (Seattle) sometime this fall, and another Romeo 60 in Jacksonville!!

That's gotta be a blast getting to go to bases all over the place and paint their machines. The Prowler will be neat... there won't be too many more opportunities to see them over the next few years.
You need your own web site with just your work, and photos of your aircraft that you've painted. I'd love to see that. ;D
I DO!
www.flygirlpainter.com (http://www.flygirlpainter.com)
dont have the last 2 uploaded yet,,been too busy!
Oh, COOL! 8) That is just what you needed. Very cool site! I was looking around trying to find some shots of your work to show my wife. Didn't know about the site until now.
Don't worry I merged them and NICE work as always!!!
Very cool work Shayne! 8) <apscs>
Thanks Fernando,, just heard from VAQ-131 and possibly will be going up there around Labor Day to do the Prowler...can't wait! Of all the aircraft I have painted, including an SR-71 and B-52, I have never done a Prowler!
Nice! an SR-71... wow! I would love to see that. <rob>
OK here are some pictures I haven't even put on my website yet,,,In June I painted an H-60 for HS-6, Screamin Indians. They had a crash in May and lost 5 crew members, very sad. On the tail I did a memorial to them. This one took 8 days because of all the air brush detailI did. Scott of course helped and did most of the lettering.
The Chief I painted on both sides on the junction box covers-about 24" x 30"..clear coated and all..
the warrior on the horse I also did on both sides
heres 2 more,, the tail has the indian with his spear held to the sky and there are 5 feathers rising up,, for thr 5 crew members.
ok last one

WOW! Thanks for selecting it member photo of the week. That's totally cool!
The story behind all this, we were at LAX to do a live shot, and I was the second man (We have to have two, per airport PD. Someone always has to be with the van) We saw him come in, and we could hear him idling on the roof of the parking garage. I was waiting like a hunter with my camera, and he popped up right in front of the tower and WHAMMO!
My reporter still laughs at the spaztastic dance I did up and down the sidewalk when I saw I got the shot.

You weren't on the Winchester Fire by chance were you? I saw one of your vans arrive near me.
That day, it was Rachael Kim. I wasn't on the Winchester fire, just the Station Fire. We have 25 vans, plus 2 small sat trucks, and 2 big sat trucks, so it could be any of us.

was this shot taken when the Customs & Uscg @ LAX along with the USCG GV?
No, I was just on Vista Del Mar at Dockwieler and he came zooming over the dunes. I didnt see any other aircraft with him. Big surprise to see a Jayhawk at LAX. Pretty exciting.
Awesome shot there, Ken! ;) Looks like you got lucky when it flew over Dockweiler. Are these Jayhawks typical fare at LAX? I see quite a few USCG helos there, but they don't quite look like this one.
Jayhawks MH-60J are based in San Diego. Daulphine's HH-65C's are based at LAX
Thanks for the info, Damon. ;D Hows the machine running? Just passing time here at the computer lab in between classes. <nerd>
In all my years spotting at LAX, this is the FIRST time I've ever seen a Jayhawk there.
Here are two shots of a H-60 series helicopter with an In Flight Refueling Probe. I haven't seen any of the permanently assigned NI helos with I.F.R. probes. The second pic cleatly shows A.F.R.C.

Hey Rander!
Actually, that's permanent blue. NAVAIR was doing a 'trial' on that particular color scheme, and HS-6 evaluated it.
That's HH-60H, BuNo 163784. Used to be an HCS-5 Firehawk bird, and made two trips to Iraq. She was a special guest at our first Firehawk reunion in March 2009.
