WOW! Thanks for selecting it member photo of the week. That's totally cool!

The story behind all this, we were at LAX to do a live shot, and I was the second man (We have to have two, per airport PD. Someone always has to be with the van) We saw him come in, and we could hear him idling on the roof of the parking garage. I was waiting like a hunter with my camera, and he popped up right in front of the tower and WHAMMO!

My reporter still laughs at the spaztastic dance I did up and down the sidewalk when I saw I got the shot.

Very cool... who is your reporter?

You weren't on the Winchester Fire by chance were you? I saw one of your vans arrive near me.

That day, it was Rachael Kim. I wasn't on the Winchester fire, just the Station Fire. We have 25 vans, plus 2 small sat trucks, and 2 big sat trucks, so it could be any of us.

No, I was just on Vista Del Mar at Dockwieler and he came zooming over the dunes. I didnt see any other aircraft with him. Big surprise to see a Jayhawk at LAX. Pretty exciting.

Awesome shot there, Ken! ;)  Looks like you got lucky when it flew over Dockweiler.  Are these Jayhawks typical fare at LAX?  I see quite a few USCG helos there, but they don't quite look like this one.
