Hey, I was there for that one! My pics are all slides, unfortunately, and I don't have a slide scanner.

The SR-71 is too cool, I saw it fly at Edwards. I need to find my "FILM" pix for that one ::)

Here's the one that's on display in the NASA Dryden parking lot, shot this afternoon while waiting for the thunderstorms to move through the area. If you look to the right in the 2nd image, you can see our real target for the day, the Shuttle Atlantis.

I think these were 1999.  Probably the last public display flight of the SR-71

Yeah, NASA 844 made the last flight 10 years ago at the Edwards Airshow.

But where was the NASA SR-71B shot?

844, 956 & 955, dedicated T-38 chase planesto the SR-71were regulars around Plant 42 during the "golden years) along with the B-1B & its F-106 chase, X-31, F-117A, AC-130U, U-2 etc.

You could see all of the above types (well, usually only one of the SR-71 models) in a single day plus some neat transient visitors too.  ;)

Note, for last flight of the SR-71 from Plant 42 to Dulles, they paints small tears on the T-38 chase planes.
