Interesting day today.
Leading off with Maj Gen Eichhorn's (Commander EAFB) F-16 (interesting that the name on the back cockpit rail reads "MRS BOBBI ZAPhA"  :)

Bobbi is one of the head AF contract aerial photogs at EDW.

Cool! I was hoping someone would catch that P-3!! Saw it as I was driving between sites, was seriously wishing I was on the other side of the fence today!

Hey , what do you guys think will happen to the Shuttle 747s ? Scrap ? They must be ultra low time.

akradecki

I would say more like mid-time...they are both ex-airliners. One proposal I have heard of would including sending one of them to a museum with a shuttle, so the two could be displayed together. Sorry, not at liberty to say which museum is proposing that.

I bet we can all guess which museum would want a Boeing 747 SCA and a Boeing (bought Rockwell) Space Shuttle.

;D

I've said it privately before, I'll say it publicly here: this is the perfect opportunity for the AFFTC Museum to have a strategic fundraising campaign to bring an SCA and Enterprise back home and build a new museum complex in the process outside the EAFB gates.  It would take 100M probably, but it would be a reason to swing for the fences.

Oh well.
