The Wings Over Gilespie Air Show was better  than I expected, John Cullver put on a great flying demonstration, Martin Kennedy thrilled the crowd with his arial skills, and later during a pyrotecnics demomstration a grass fire broke out that put up a considerable amount of smoke so that 7 AT-6/SNJ aircraft and 4 YAK 52's of the Red Star Squadron had to circle the field for 20 minutes or so, so the fast moving fire could be extinguished. The fire was pushed by 20 MPH winds, about 200 yards of grass between the runways burned. A construction company water truck did most of the work to extinguish the fire and The El Cajon Fire Department mopped up. For Me the highlight was to meet John Cullver, I had about a 10 minute conversation with him.

Lots of pics to follow, maay take 3-4 days to get them all put up so stay tuned.

These pics are of John Cullver in War Dog prepairing to go flying. The first 4 are prior to starting the engine when the canopy is full open.  The last 3 are after the engine is fired the canopy is partically closed to reduce wind blowing back from the propeller.

The weather was a lot better today fewer clouds and more sunshine as a cool Santa Ana is moving through San Diego County.

I shot 431 pics on Saturday, about 80 or so were of John Culver and his AT-6 War Dog, and at least 80 or sos more of Martin Kennedy flying little aerobatic aircraft.

Here are 10 more of John Cullver. I have become a fan of his.
