The pics don't work without being logged in.

And I was told on Fenceheck, that the S-3 *wasn't* going to get that particular scheme. Maybe it actually is.

I kinda hope it doesn't... Not a fan of that particular design.

I was also told by a reliable source (the guy who designed the paint job for the Navy) that that IS NOT the scheme the S-3 will have

Well, dang.... sure looks like they did it.

On another note, I love the paint schemes they've been drawing up for the Goshawks and Seahawks (especially the Corsair scheme on TS425).

I guess the Navy changed their mind, big surprise there   :)

The Scheme is different from the one in the drawing. Take notice at the tail. Unless they arent done painting the tail

I see no difference in between the drawing and the actual paint job...

on the drawing the blue takes up the whole tail. on the actual bird the blue has its demarcation line at the first dog head.

I think that's just a strange shadow being cast... the hangar doors are open and you can see some light from the setting sun on the far left portion of the wall...

i would agree with you on the most part except this is what leaves me confused.

If you look at the rear of the jet where it has its boom hole thingy (the only hole in the back of the jet) You can see a blue outline curve above it that follows the rear fuselage.

The other thing is with the lighting as you stated, it has cause the same colors to have 2 very distinct shades. With that in mind, shouldnt the dog head be have two distinct shades to it also? especially at where this shadow line goes down through it?

Maybe not on the insignia since it's gloss? I don't know  :-X  ;D

could be. i guess we should just wait for it to officially roll out. but one more thing that doesnt support my idea is that theres no ww2 ASW schem where the blue covers  only part of the tail like how that s3 could be.  Its generally mostly all blue or all grey.
