Thanks! about ten feet from the track. I always give a wave to the engineer in such a situation and give them a wave of the camera before laying down for a low angle shot so they don't worry about my motives.

Great shots everybody!  I like the little change of pace here.  Jim, I'm digging the low angle on that Tehachapi shot...very well done
These BNSF locomotives are typical fare for me, as the tracks are about 30 feet away from my backyard wall.  One of the very first shots from my 70-200 lens and I highly credit it to the contraction of my L-disease
