They have requested Tanker 10 (DC-10) to help out.  Why did they not reqest this earlier.  And WTF happened to the C-130J fron ANG Channel Islands at Pt Mugu? Its not the squadrons fault, but when the converted from the C-130E/H their fire fighting equipment was specific to those older modesl and when they got the C-130J's they did not fit and could not use them and they were developing new ones for the J's.  WhyTF did they not hold on to a few of the E/H models to deal with CA wildfires until the new J's equipment was read?   Its a great assest.  Where was the Gov. in all this.  Sorry to rant, but you can see my point I think.  We need the bigger stuff out there.

As of 10/08 they were still waiting for certification of the modular firefighting equipment per the year in Review.  Last year they played host to a Colorado Squadron that still had the older model C-130E/H

Caught Kern County's air attack Turbo Commander taking off from Mojave on Friday...unfortunately, I was way across the field, so the heat distortion did a number on the clarity, but....

Ok so where on the lake was that taken? Afternoon or morning?

BTW, I just drove down the street from my house and the Mars is here at Lake Elsinore but parked crappy for photography. Their helicopter is also here but again parked crappy for photos. Both arrived on Monday afternoon.
