C-17 over the beach headed for 29, 80-200 + tc20e iii-- the tc was overkill, since he came in right over my head

Hey, no problem, the pleasure was all mine!  I would've liked to have seen what Saturday was like from Pt Loma.  Too bad it looks like nobody who posts was up there.

Finally got out of the house and did some NAVAIR shooting. It's been 7 months since I last got to do any.

Great weather for afternoon shots. The morning up to about 2 was pretty soupy. The sky was pretty photogenic that's for sure! I'm uploading the footage I took right now. I should post it here sometime today.

Great stuff...Is that a typical day there?

I live 3 blocks from where I was shooting last Friday, so even if I'm not at the beach I can hear everything that comes in.  I've only had one other day like that before, but there IS activity most days.   Weekends are pretty quiet unless there is an exercise or CQs going on.   Friday was heavier than usual because of the car racing-- the Growlers did flybys and the VAQ-137 EA-6B was on static.  Oh, the other thing is one runway was closed because of the cars, so every arrival came in over the beach.  On a typical day there are 2 runways open so there isn't as much coming past the beach.

These Hornets came in last weekend, and they landed on runway 36, the Dog Beach runway is 29.

That's great.

We were in SD last February for my son's basketball game against USD. We stayed at the Marriott in the Gaslamp and had a great view of all the channel approaches to North Island.
