Great stuff Damon.  I always find old airfield sites likes this very fascinating.  Just thinking of the history of these places is neat.

Do you know what the ultimate plan is for the El Toro site?

I know portions will be developed for homes.  Not sure how much of it but the days I think are numbered for how it looks today.  Once all plans are done you will not even tell that a airfield was there.

I have go pro too I have to edit and chop up or speed up.  I was there about 2 hrs and probably have at least an hr of footage wondering around.

It would be great to be able to reuse as much of it as they can.  They did a similar thing down here in San Diego where the old Naval Training Center San Diego was.  It is now Liberty station, and there are still a lot of the old buildings and grounds left.  I love to drive through there.

kick Z tail out

Sad to see it erased... wish it was still operational.
