While on our way over to Cal City today, I grabbed one of Aloha's colorful Fun Bird....

I'd make the drive out there just to get a shot of this one. Is there any spot I can catch a good shot of it??

Canon stuff.

If you shooting from the fence line, I'd suggest trying behind Stater Bros. (at the north end of town). The tour will take you out there, but sometimes they're ok about photography, and sometimes they're a bit anal. If I see Javier on Monday, I'll ask him.

I'm going to be rolling through Mojave tomorrow around 8 - 9am. How far away is the Aloha jet from the fence line if I am shooting from Stater Bros.? Is there anything else going on tomorrow?

Canon stuff.

It's a ways...you're going to need a long lens. I never did make it up there to check it out, but flying over the area made it look like it's a pretty clean shot from there. Our 412 is in the hangar, there's an old 222U on the line. I won't be around till 10 am, otherwise I'd invite you over for a "hi".

One of Corporate Helo's Astars was at the school down the ramp, sporting a big HD Wescam ball. The shiny black paint sure sucks up all the light! Makes for hard shooting....

From my drive through Mojave a couple of weeks ago. Nothing great but I could tell there is a heck of a lot to shoot out there.

Canon stuff.

Quite a few Canadian birds out there but they look out of service now since no logos.  I do see Alan next to the Bell 222!!  ;D
