Some S-2 flights out of Ramona fighting the camp pendleton fire over the weekend, S-2 # 71 comes from a former navy airframe bu # 149268, and # 70 is former navy # 153570, theres not much S-2 of old about these guys as i did some research about the conversion, but are sure cool to shoot at work. The OV-10 is the forward air command plane

Raw power, with a hint of flying rocks. (Even found rocks inside my shoes). My friend Seth flying right seat.

1/80th is a bit challenging when being buffeted by 70+ mph prop wash. :D Which was amazingly sporadic. I kind of expected a steady sustained force of wind. It was surprisingly random with substantial wind punctuated by sudden spikes of hurricane force power. Either way, I was sitting right on the edge of the rotorspan's footprint. It was fun and pretty much what I expected. That's why I used a garbage lens. ;)

Nice shots Mike and Trent.  8) I never get to see Erickson use their sea skimmer out here! They just use the snorkel.
