Tanker 43 (P2V-7) making the first drop on the Sterling Fire last weekend in the Del Rosa/Highland area of San Bernardino. 4 fixed wing (T-05, 43, 44, 105) were pulled off of the Lake Fire for this start. It was so close to SBD that the aircraft would drop and immediately start a right downwind for Runway 24.

First drop was a 2 door partial load down the left flank, followed by the final 2 doors across the top to anchor the line.

And the MD-87 got in on it as well, leaving only the VLATs (T-911/912) working the Lake Fire. This was my first incident with one of the MD-87s. Sounds great powering out.
