Take-off for yesterday's 4th test flight.

Dude! I need to rent a room out there and just shoot with you for a weekend! I love the stuff you catch!

On my way through there last weekend I saw the Aloha jet but it was way too far to get a decent shot from the road. Are you allowed to walk through the sand to the fence and shoot?

Canon stuff.

As far as I know, yes, or you can just take the $5 tour, the driver, Javier, usually lets you shoot.

Guess no stops (ideally) along the way.  Did you catch it or too early?

Caught it indeed, shooting from the boneyard. Got some other stuff, as well, that I'll post under the airport thread. Saw Brian sitting outside the fence on top of his red truck, as well.

Yep, that was me hangin out in the bushes, lol. That second spot I was at, looks like it might also be a good spot to catch the rarely caught Phantoms. Here are some of my takeoff shots from this morning.

Cool pics. I wonder how weird it feels for the pilot to bank... dropping 25 feet.  :o

WK2 returned from KOSH today to eleventy-hundred degrees, which made enough heat distortion to pretty much ruin the chances of getting good landing pics. Oh well. Very quiet reception back home after all the Oshkosh hoopla. Winds were weird, so they landed on Rwy 12, but even then had quite a crosswind component, but landed beautifully.
