Any word when and where AF1 is coming in? and what time? I might be take some pic's from the roof of my job.
What kind of lens you going to use?  1000mm with 2x converter?  I get the impression he is landing at LBG, but not 100%.

LoL I wish I had a 1000mm but I don't think he is going to be landing at LGB. I'm pretty sure it might be LAX and if its there I will use my 300mm or I might use my friends 400mm. Also.. What about the white tops? I wanna take some pics of those helo's :)

News is saying today at 3?? Thought it was gonna be tomorrow? TFRs have been filed for today too.

I still think Signal Hill would be the best bet. Least likely place to get in trouble for shooting. Minimum lens 300mm imo. The panorama of LGB in the Long Beach - LGB thread was taken from Signal Hill with my 100-300mm.

Just took a look at flightaware and noticed a 737-800 flying to LGB from Andrews AFB, just departed, should be in around 11:55AM according to flightaware. Maybe the presscore? Flight number BSK3000.

Only thing of interest on flightaware for today.

NikonGuy

Is he even coming north of Long Beach for anything.  Good luck to anyone going to day and beware of your surroundings.

Got this link off the AF1 thread on Fencecheck.

I'm taking a half-day and going for it. I heard on the radio he's scheduled to land at 3 at Long Beach. I'll either be at CSULB or somewhere off Los Coyotes Diagonal or Clark south of the 405. I figure CSULB is a good bet since you can blend in with the students instead of waiting somewhere on the street with a big white or black lens.

Canon stuff.

I'm up on a hill in Pedro, and I can usually see all the way to Signal Hill, but there is heavy, heavy fog in the area, if it doesn't burn off, which I'm sure it will, don't expect anything good. Can't see past 100ft right now. I'll grab some shots to give an idea.

I'm sure there will be a significant burn-off by 3. Today is suppose to be the hottest day of the week. Well, at least that's what I'm hoping for...
Canon stuff.

Josh

Yeah I'm sure it will. But some crazy fog. When I made the first post I could at least see over the fog to the mountains, now I can't see jack.
