Bill CornickJoin us as we salute our valley veterans! Legends Over Madera - Air Show 2009 will thrill spectators of all ages with exciting aerobatic performers, rare WWII bombers & fighters, and the only civilian four-ship jet flight demonstration team of its kind in the world, The Patriots Jet Team. This headlining act flies the beautiful L-39 jet and will perform exciting maneuvers similar to the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. There will be a tremendous war bird representation with aircraft such as the P-38 Lightning, the B-25 Bomber, the P-40 War hawk, a F4U Corsair, and an F-86 jet fighter to name a few. Several of these legendary war birds and their pilots will be flying during the event! Madera is located just 30 minutes from Fresno, CA - less than 2 hours from Stockton and Modesto, CA and only 2 hours from Bakersfield, CA! Madera is also just 1hr. and 20 mins. from Yosemite!

To kick off our event on the right note...on Friday night we will have Country music star, avid pilot and huge aviation enthusiast, Aaron Tippin, perform at the conclusion of the air show performers' practice day. Our Air Show spectators will enjoy vendor, performer, & static aircraft excitement, just as they will on Saturday & Sunday, but included in their ticket price Friday will be a great concert by Aaron. Click here for an Aaron Tippin video.

This Air Show is truly unique!

Children will also have fun in the "Kids Zone" with play houses, face painting and more!

Of course, there will be many Vendors, Exhibitors, and sights both on the ground and up in the air!

In addition to the customary air show activities and static displays, Legends Over Madera - Air Show 2009 will also have Collector Cars and Ultra-light aircraft  to view on the ground. Come view these classic beauties and innovative ultra-light aircraft!

TBM's C-130A N466TM (ex-Tanker 64) which was on display today at the Mojave fly-in will be up at Madera, according to the plane's pilot.

The last time I remember seeing a C-130A was in 1970 at The Air Force reserve hanger at Willow Grove Naval Air Station. Then the AF Reserve C-130A's had 3 bladed propellers. Looks like the C-130A in the pic got a propeller upgrade to a 4 blade propeller. Maybe this aircraft also has avionics and engine upgrades as well.

Yeah, 3-panel EFIS in the cockpit! It helps that it's current assignment is a avionics development testbed, being wetleased by TBM to ASB Avionics, the folks doing the Tepper L382 upgrades.
