USNS Montford Point MLP-1 by SBGrad, on Flickr
Interesting ship, don't think i have ever seen one like that before.  Maybe for good reason too, i looked it up and it is low like that to except 3 LCACs.  Looks like it is a brand new ship as well, only being excepted into the NAVY last month.  Good catch!

Busy day on San Diego Harbor.  Might be that the British, Canadian, and Japanese are in town for joint training.

USS Independence (LCS-2)

USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70)

Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk

You have to look close on this one but there is a Seahawk hovering over the water.

I saw a piece on the news last night (KUSI) that the Canadians were training with the Marines up at Pendelton.

The US Navy & Marines have been training with the Canadians, New Zealanders, and Japanese since June 11th, for Operation Dawn Blitz 2103. I have been covering a lot of the training from both the Japanese ships and the land training. If you'd like to see images from the different phases of the training, you can see them on my website at http://www.military-fotos.com/Events/Dawn-Blitz-2013/30098170_hB2fCC#!i=2587801305&k=X9KCpnM

The exercise ends on the 28th, with tanks at the firing ranges. I have no clue why the British are here, except for just a port call.
