Hey Josh, you can ride up with me but you need to meet me in OC if that okay. What day were you planning leaving?
Canon stuff.

Waiting to hear back from the media guy about credentials. Emailed him again to see if they're a go or not.

If I get the credentials (Funny, I'm the one guy here who actually works for the media) I want to go to the media day on Friday and will probably stay the night up there.

If not, I'm hitting the road no later than 6am on Saturday if not earlier.

I emailed him twice today and received a reply about an hour later. You might want to try and contact him again. I think there is a few of us that are going to be staying over night out there. Maybe we can try and stay at the same location.

You aren't the only one here who 'actually works' for the media, I can assure you, lol.

??? Dude, print media is just as much media as broadcast...you'd be surprised at how many of us here are at least part time media; right now I'm more like full-time. Of the cadre up here in the high desert, every one of us has our work regularly published. What's great about APSoCal is that everyone tends to treat everyone as equals. Some of the guys here are still learning photography...great! What better place to do so than to rub shoulders with guys who do it for a living, without feeling intimidated. I hope you didn't mean it that way, but your comment came off a bit arrogant...you might want to reconsider it.

It wasn't meant to be arrogant, and sorry if it was taken that way, but I have credentials from across Southern California and thought it was funny I was having problems getting a pass for the show.

Where is a good cheap motel/hotel that is close ?

Code20photog

Obviously, nothing quite close to Edwards. I'd definitely say be careful on how cheap you go in Lancaster/Palmdale for a motel. Might be worth the extra $$ to get a bit nicer place.

There are several "cheap" ones in Rosamond, which makes them 10 minutes from the gate. I'll get phone #s on the way home from work today.

Problem is as for cheap usually from what i have seen in the area when up there they are pretty dumpy places...
been looking around just now and found a few places, but not cheap.

Mostly in Lancaster

Holiday inn Express
Courtyard Marriott
Oxford Suites
Best Western

Ok, maybe not that "cheap". A place where your car will be there in the morning and you don't need to bring weapons to sleep with.
