Josh

Ok, from what I have found out, it was a test flight involving "sensitive" equipment for AQ tests. That's why it was marked as "Not To Be Seen" The flight plan was as follows:

Left Palmdale to LAX VOR @ 0820, got to LAX VOR @ 0900. From LAX VOR to ocean operations areas, then off to VTU VOR (Ventura/Point Mugu) then Ops will continue up north to Arcata/Eureka then down to San Fran, to LAX, then to Mojave.

Wow thanks Josh for the info.  It was really cool to see and the DC-8 is one of those classics like the 707.

And some more info from Kevin-Aero Engineer on Nasa website http://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/news/NewsReleases/2008/08-26.html.  Also it was on KNX 1070 Jim (f104jim) said.
