So sadden by the passing of this amazing man who showed us so much of California.  From the hole in the wall resturant to our natural treasures.  He will be sorely missed.  Those wishing to view episodes of "California's Gold" can go to Chapman University where Huell wanted his legacy perserves.

Huell was the best at showing what was the best in our state.  He showed us the real CA gems.  If it were not for him, there would have been a few places that I would have pased up.

I heard last night but its been on the news, but Tom LaBonge City Councilman is holding a sunset memorial for Huell Howser today at Griffith Observatory 3:30.
QuoteThe OC Register
Despite his wishes, his fans are not going to let him leave without a send-off. Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge, a friend of Howser's, arranged a memorial scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the Griffith Park Observatory. The event begins at 3:30 p.m., and remarks will start at 5:07. A shuttle will run from the Greek Theatre parking lot to the observatory.

It's really sad that this happened. I agree with him showing the best of our state and some gems that are off the beaten trails that not many people know about. I enjoyed watching California's Gold and hope that PBS keeps replaying the older episodes.
