Los Angeles Navy Days 2011

The U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln CVN-72, U.S.S. Princeton CG-59 (guided missile cruiser), U.S.S. Chafee DDG-90 (guided missile destroyer), and the U.S.S. Champion MCM-4 (mine countermeasures ship) will all visit the Port of Los Angeles at San Pedro's Port's O'Call on Monday July 25th. through Sunday July 31st. for ship tours.

I wonder if the CWG-2 will be aboard the Lincoln, or will fly off.

I heard that CVW-2 will not be on the deck. Just a few aircraft only.

Looking forward to it. Should be really cool to see Honest Abe. I rememeber when CVN-72 had an open house in the early 90's at the now defunct Long Beach Naval Shipyard.

There are 4 aircraft on the flight deck of the Abraham Lincoln.  VFA-2 CAG, VFA-151, HSM-77 CAG, VAW-116 CAG.

The U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 at the Port of Los Angeles docked at Cabrilllo Beach. Aircraft onboard are 1. F/A-18F Super Hornet of VFA-2 Bounty Hunters (CAG). 1. F/A-18C Hornet of VFA-151 Vigilantes (low-viz.). 1. E-2D Hawkeye of VAW-116 Sun Kings (CAG). 1. MH-60R Seahawk of HSM-77 Sabrehawks (CAG). I am going on Sunday.

Thanks, wish I had had tripod and not top of trash can on the sand.   I heard GO EARLY!!!  I am going to scout spots after tour tomorrow as well.

Robert, we need a report on how it went to day....
