A few more from a mx flight today...first was a mile final to Taxiway Charlie (helicopters are so much more fun...don't have to mess with those silly runways!). The other two are the new 1st Mojave Fighter Squadron. Ok, just kidding, they're the Calspan F-16s.

Nice ones Alan, can you elaborate on the Calspan project with the F-16's.  Could not find anything on internet.  If you can...

A couple from yesterday. Unfortunately, I had to leave to attend the Boeing X-51A media briefing before WK2 went airborne.

Any shots of the first QRF-4C.  I probably left on the 13th give or take a day?

Not that often, maybe once every couple of weeks. The helo transient parking is right next to ours, but it's not used that much. Most of the helo activity at Mojave is from NTPS. Here's one of WK2 taxiing past their line.

I didn't realize that one was "special". QFs are common enough that I only pull the camera out when the lighting is "ideal".

Yeah it was the first QRF-4C.  They have used up all the good airframes for the F-4E and F-4G so they are now converting QRF-4C's.   They did test the RF when they first where going to use the Phantom for drones but started with the E's and G's first.
