No who's video? KCBS/KCAL?

Yes, our Ventura Crew went out there to do a preview story. The T-Birds had to delay their arrival by 2 hours because of the weather and the media rides were cancelled. But in the background of one of their interviews, you could see the lineup of VX-30 aircraft.

Of course, the spelled "Mugu" wrong throughout the story:

Guess i will stick around till they kick me out then.. depending on how foggy it is...

The latest weather report I heard this morning was "Maybe a couple hours of sun at the coast in the afternoon"

Is there a website about directions to the airshow, best routes, when to arrive, what to bring?

I only ask b/c this is the 2nd airshow I'm attending.  The first airshow @ 2009 Edwards AFB was an absolute traffic nightmare where the last 10 miles took 4 hours.  Are they all like that, or was the Edwards one poorly planned?

Sungoban,  attached is my best guess of the layout based on what they have done in the past.  If you enter the base from Las Posas, (if you dirve up on PCH or cut over from the 101 freeway) you will likely be parked on the ramp; those entering from Wood Road (coming in from the North) will likely be parked on the eastern part of Runway 9.

If you want to avoid traffic, plan to come very early (gates reportedly open at 8 AM) and leave late (about an hour or so after the Thunderbirds land *or* when they start kicking you off the field).   An excellent time to get out of Dodge is just before the T-Birds start the demo; the tradeoff is that you will a) miss the demo and b) miss all the people planning to leave as the demo completes.  Your choice.

Another thought on traffic - the airfield is basically accessed by two four-lane roads (giving you maybe three lanes with flow control, necking down to one or two lanes).  Las Posas is two-lane from the 101 freeway as is Wood Road.  PCH is two-lane in parts coming up from Malibu.  There will be traffic congestion, your job is to plan and avoid it.

The weather will be a crapshoot.  Plan for a foggy misty morning with the marine layer burning off by 2 PM ish (maybe).  If it does burn off, there will likely be a low deck over the coastline.  Remember, the over run for Runway 3 is about 50 yards from the surf.  Show center is probably less than 6000 feet North of the beach.  For what it's worth, we had bright, cloudless sunlight from 7 to 7:30 PM last night.  Current conditions near Mugu may be characterized as cloudy bright (F5.6 weather if you remember your Kodak instructions...)

I like weather underground because they give you the dew point and the temp.

I think fog occurs when the tempo is within 2-4 deg of the dewpoint.
