GREAT first day ;D ;D ;D ;D
Got the great opportunity to get on base today and take a C-17 flight.  Flight took off out of March at around noon, and we headed south towards San Diego.  We headed out over the Pacific around Carlsbad and flew toward NALF San Clemente.  On the way out we did a simulator quick decent, which consisted of throwing on the thrust reverser and descending at 17,000 feet per minute!  We continued onto San Clemente and practice a missed approach.  After that we crossed over Avalon at Catalina then headed back towards March ARB.  We ended up orbiting over Banning while the Super Bug finished it's demo.  I got to ride up in the cockpit for the landing (Sorry Kevin, Scissors beat paper...) and we were supposed to come in over the field at 15,000 feet and spiral down in the tactical descent, but since we had to wait for the F/A-18 we ran out of time and just came in over the field towards the museum.  So if any one has any close-ups on that C-17 flight (i doubt it...) that would be cool.
Anyways had an awesome time and the group that helped us at March was great!

Now that sounds like FUN. Only it's too bad you guys were in the simulator for it. ;) jk  :P

I do have shots of that flight going and coming back.

A few more. :) Nice to get a chance to shoot an HH-65. Don't get to see them this far inland too often.

Just watch out going into the museum, I tried going in and they wanted to inspect my camera backpack, which I had no problem with. They then told me I could not bring in my 100-400 lens because it was a professional Lens, and that they would have to charge me $250.00 to shoot from inside the museum.

That frikin hilarious
