NAF El Centro PAO has advised that there have been several instances of photographers taking pictures of the base's main gate in recent weeks. There has been no indication that any of the individuals taking these photos are Fence Check members, however, we want to spread word about this issue. Over the years the base command has been very photographer friendly, however, there is a growing concern about this activity which is perceived as a large threat to base security. If you know of anyone heading to this base for photography, please advise them of this issue and ask them to refrain from taking these types of photos at this or any other military base in the US so that the aviation photography community can maintain its great relationship with NAF El Centro and other bases in the US. I think most people here know only to take photos of the aircraft and not of the base itself, and if not this should be a reminder for everyone taking photos
