N3HU was up at the test pilot school at Mojave over the weekend, and it took off before dawn this morning. I had a lot of fun varying the exposure between silhouette to pickup the sky colors, and a slower speed for the planes details. The takeoff shot is 1/30th handheld! Not a bad way to start a Monday!

Yeah nice panning.   Is the BAX DC-8 in storage I hope?

Yeah, the BAX/ATI -8 is in storage, but it's not on an approved program at the moment, so its chances of getting reactivated are not great. Currently has no engines installed.

Any shot of it?  or in the blog?  Not to get off topic here.

Sure, I'll dig a couple up. Another one, N825BX, is expected to arrive in the next week or so.
