Phantom, Raptor, and Tornado fans:

The date has been changed to Oct 27,28 and 29 for the Phantom Society's annual "PhanCon" event. This year it will be at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was originally slated for Oct 6, 7,and 8, but PAO asked the group to push it back a bit. This is actually a good thing, because only three days prior to PhanCon, is the Holloman AFB Open House / Airshow, which will feature the F-22 demo, along with a Heritage Flight that will have both the Raptor and an F-4 Phantom, along with a P-51.

I believe the deadline for signing up is Oct 13th. I will be attending both the airshow and PhanCon. I love going to this location - not just because of the F-4s, Raptors, and Tornadoes, but it's also a great excuse to camp under the stars at White Sands Nat'l Monument.

0600-0730  Breakfast Buffet (Holiday Inn Express-free)   

0730           Board Buses at Holiday Inn Express

0745           Buses depart (briefing on buses as to rules re photography, restricted access, etc)

0800           Welcome Briefing by 49th Wing CO

0830-1130   Travel to Det F-4 Hangar, Briefing and Ramp Activities

1130-1300   Hosted Lunch at E-Club.  49th mission briefings during lunch.

1300-1400   Heritage Park for tour and pictures

1400-1630      F22 and GAF Tornado

1630            Return to Holiday Inn  (Dinner at your leisure.. free Vans available to VFW for a great F-4 Hamburger!)

1900-2400  Vendor Room and Hospitality Suite open

1530           Return to Holiday Inn

1700           Board buses for return to Holloman for Dinner at O'Club

1730-1830   Cocktail Hour

1830            Post Colors, Dinner

1930            Business Meeting

2015            Break

Not really an airshow, but here ya go, Phantom fans. Phancon stuff from Holloman. TWENTY EIGHT QF-4Es on the ramp at the 82nd ATRS, plus four more in a hangar we visited.
