Cool  pics

Thanks, glad to hear you like them.  I knew I was going to be shooting the sirshow itself Fri and Sat, so I figured I could burn Thursday at the airport.

Hey guys can you give me a couple of places to shoot SFO and OAK?  Going to take my son to both Hiller Air Museum and Oakland Aviation Museum.  I though we could do some spotting while in the area.

Thanks
Shane

Never shot at Oakland.  For SFO, try Millbrae Avenue and Old Bayshore Highway, keep going down Old Bayshore, there are a couple different places to shoot from, Bayside Park, Robert Wolley Park, Fisherman's Park, all easily found on google maps.  I've also shot from the cell phone lot (I WAS waiting for flights to arrive), and you can try the San Bruno Ave overpass over 101 to catch departures going right over your head.

Thanks SBGrand. We will give it a try the next time we are up there.

Just a bit more info about Millbrae Ave and Old Bayshore.   There isn't any place to park at that intersection.  Go east on Millbrae Ave until it deadends, then turn right on to Old Bayshore.  Take the very first left into the parking lot-- if you turn right you'd be on Cowan.  Most of the lot is pay parking for the hotel, don't go thru the gate!  Instead, look for the 14-15 free spaces on the north side of the lot (which will be on your left as you enter the lot).  If the free spaces are full, try parking on Cowan Ave-- directly across from the parking lot.

Just a few offerings from me at SFO. I really havent photographed SFO as much as I would like, primarily due to lack of good photos spots around the airport. I have discovered that if you are a bit creative, you can get some nice panning shots from departures off the 1's.

These were taken over the past two days, it was nice to see such a massive amount of traffic for the holiday travel season,
