America's grand adventure to place human footprints on the surface of the moon was, of course, a vast set of individual adventures by many thousands of unique adventurers.  Although unique in their personal histories and routes of travel, all of these adventurers shared the common dream and common purpose that culminated in the July 1969 technological triumph.  One of those adventurers, Robert Frimtzis, followed his own unique route of travel, to join in and play a key role in America's lunar conquest.  Caught between the WWII Nazi invasion of Russia and the terrible excesses of Stalin's persecutions, this young teenager braved the risks and challenges of making his way to the American promised land.  Succeeding in this, he turned the educational and professional opportunities in his adopted homeland into an impressive career in aerospace.  Distinguishing himself in the field of simulator design for airliners, he then applied his skill and creativity to the field of space exploration, eventually making major contributions to the NASA moon landing program.  After that, he continued to help push the limits of technology, in such assignments as project manager of the Gamma Ray Observatory and several other challenging projects.  Join us, to hear about the saga of his escape from behind the Iron Curtain, and his many happier adventures in America's space explorations.
