New helicopter at Milestones. Anyone know where it came from? (BTW, any millionaires out there who want to donate money to get this place back on its feet? It's one of the sorriest excuses for a museum that I've seen in a long time.)

They actually have some rare aircraft. The problem is that they don't take care of them, and they're just rotting into the ground. I'll post some pics in a day or so.

Well Alan, THat helo most likely won't look much better than it does in your photo. In my experience at the Midway Museum, it can be a daunting task to locate parts for fixed wing air craft especially prior to the Vietnam War. For helicopters it will be next to impossible unless you have a set of manuals for the aircraft and a machine shop with machinests to start making all the parts you won't find anywhere else. There isn't much out there for pre Vietnam helos. The helo in the photo appears to be nothing more than a heavily stripped out airframe, that in all reality WON'T look much better than it does in the photo.

Figured I would share some of my photos from Milestones of Flight. I will say one thing, that even though these planes are just falling to pieces, it is worth a visit if in the area. The collection of models in the hanger itself is very interesting, plus you get a whole different feel out there than most museums, as these are a few big birds, in a wide open desert setting, including Howard Hughes personal B-25. Please excuse the crappy editing on the first few pics, as they are from 2 years ago, and my editing was horrific at the time.
