WHO: SANDRA O'CONNELL - Author of An American Family in World War II.
This collection of letters was selected and edited by Captain Minker
himself together with his wife, Sandra O'Connell.
                         
WHAT: Sandra O'Connell's book chronicles the life of Ralph "Lee" Minker Jr.
who, at 20 yrs old, corresponded with his family during 37 missions as a
B-17 captain in the 447th Bomb Group of the 8th Army Air Force over Nazi
Germany in 1944-45.  Our program includes a presentation followed by a
question & answer period and opportunity for book signing. Her book will be in
the Museum's gift shop just in time for your Holiday shopping.

WHEN: Saturday, December 18, 2010; 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.  The Air Museum's
B-17, Piccadilly Lilly, will be open all day for interior tours too.  Come see,
up close and personal, from where these B-17 flight crews operated!

WHERE: Planes of Fame Air Museum

WHY: This event is suitable for the entire family and a great chance to
pick up those last holiday gifts! You can't miss with a fantastic B-17 book
or t-shirt saluting our WWII heroes.  Both are available in the Air Museum's
gift shop.
