Grass Valley Airshow 2009 <rocker>
July 11, 2009
Grass Valley, CA

It looks like a cool Airshow but Im going to be at the Heroes Airshow. ;D
This is why you won't see me at Hanson Dam. I got the OK yesterday to cover this show (after a seven-hour drive).
So it's neat to get to go up there :) but also nuts that I'll miss the copters. :-\
Nice! you actually drove out there to request to cover the show?
Well I guess we'll meet some other day... maybe SMO or LAX?
I worded that post wayyy too wrong. What it should have said was that I'll be driving seven hours for the show (instead of an hour to Hanson Dam). Sorry about that. :-[
Ahhh cool cool, gotcha ;)

Yep sounds like fun... good to have some ApSocal'rs at different airshow's ;D
Here are the first three... :D
This is a neat one. Not only is it an Albatross, but there's a Beech 18 above the plane's starboard engomne and a lady photog in the nose. :D
Beautiful shots, Jim! 8)
Thanks! Here are some more from yesterday. ( you guys who went to Hanson dam weren't the only ones to get to shoot copters :D )
I knew it would be a killer show, great shots Jim <thumbup>

I agree, great shots, Jim!!!
Thanks! :)
Nice ones Jim. Tracker did some LOW drops!!!
Hey Jim, those evening shots are incredible! Very nice work! <rocker>
Thanks a million Brian. The only extra lighting I used was my flash (hand held). At 20 sec exposure, you can pick out the constellations in the sky behind the Yak shot as it was short enough not to cause any star trails of note. :)
Yup, that S-2 drop was insanely low... lower than I've ever seen anywhere. What do you expect from an ex-Tomcat bubba... ;D
Great shots of that Jim. Nice capture. Did you make sure Andre over at FC saw that?
That one's going to a publication and I won't post over there until it's run its course.

Understandable... I'm doing the same thing with a few shots. ;D
