Starting a new thread rather than leaving this stuff in the Mojave thread...
Take-off for yesterday's 4th test flight.
Nice 8)
Nice pix
Dude! I need to rent a room out there and just shoot with you for a weekend! I love the stuff you catch!
On my way through there last weekend I saw the Aloha jet but it was way too far to get a decent shot from the road. Are you allowed to walk through the sand to the fence and shoot?
As far as I know, yes, or you can just take the $5 tour, the driver, Javier, usually lets you shoot.

I have been on it twice, its good. It was set up by a friend at Mojave that flys F-4s
Heads up - FlightAware is showing WK2 for a 7:40am scheduled departure for non-stop flight to Oshkosh this morning
Guess no stops (ideally) along the way. Did you catch it or too early?
Caught it indeed, shooting from the boneyard. Got some other stuff, as well, that I'll post under the airport thread. Saw Brian sitting outside the fence on top of his red truck, as well.
Yep, that was me hangin out in the bushes, lol. That second spot I was at, looks like it might also be a good spot to catch the rarely caught Phantoms. Here are some of my takeoff shots from this morning.
Some of the flyby.........
Cool pics. I wonder how weird it feels for the pilot to bank... dropping 25 feet. :o

I know huh... How fast is that thing?
Sweet ;D
WK2 returned from KOSH today to eleventy-hundred degrees, which made enough heat distortion to pretty much ruin the chances of getting good landing pics. Oh well. Very quiet reception back home after all the Oshkosh hoopla. Winds were weird, so they landed on Rwy 12, but even then had quite a crosswind component, but landed beautifully.
Here's all I got. ;)
Glad you got one of Pete. Deaver would probably like that one.
