Pt Mugu. Back-up aircraft.

Taken Jan 2004 on film. Arriving back at the car after a day at the museum, I saw some things behind a chain link fence that looked liked jet engines in the back of the parking lot. Upon closer examination (with camera in hand of course!), I found the engines, landing gear, horizontal and vertical surfaces of SAM 2700. She had arrived up there a few month earlier when these photos were taken:

She looked brand new in the museum. They must have really polished her up becuase the parts look pretty dirty from exposure.
Taken at LGB last month when Obama visited.

Can you imagine all the effort it took to get that aircraft from D.C. to where it stands today in Ronnie's Library.

If they land on the northern runways the Hill is out, right? Or will they taxi around to the southern side?
A buddy in Las Vegas said AF-1 arrived at McCarran intl a bit early about 415pm ,just as he got out of his truck he spotted in on finals ,after it was off loaded and sitting on the ground for almost an hr it taxied out and took off on a very short flight to Nellis AFB "Dirty" gear down all the way, where its staying overnight till noon tomorrow.
Vegas Apsocal er Daryll "highflight1962" was walking out to his car "after just buying a camera" <cheers>(and will finally be posting pics)on his way to catch Af-1 as it flew directly over (low)on finals. not being able to catch it in time this was his reaction :'( :'(

GREAT SHOT Glen!!. Whats the tail code for the F-15? I did not know he had escorts? Or at least ones that were visable or that close.
Aww, man. Everyone but the one I wanted to see the photo.
No, that F-15 wasn't really there. I was just trying to have some fun with Keith since he was standing right next to me today at LAX.
It's actually a shot from Richard Seaman that I photoshoped in to create the effect. Here is the original image: http://www.richard-seaman.com/Aircraft/AirShows/PointMugu2004/Highlights/F15WithAfterburners.jpg
I was going to run with it until tomorrow but I figure I better come clean before something happens.
Sorry guys. ::)
p.s. The shot of AF1 is really from today.

No joy ,marine layer was very thick,was already in clouds when over the beach
At about 8am as I was coming down the 105 West, I saw the choppers (2 grey MH-53 followed by the two green and white HH-60s) fly east along Imperial and then do a nice break into the pattern into what looked like the south side of LAX.
I assume that the helos were repositioning after Marine One had landed or after AF1 had taken off.
It sure did look cool though!
