Recently bought my first house in El Cajon, just east of Gillespie.  I'm right under the arrivals for the 24L and 24R.  I've gotten used to the noise, but one of the positives is that every so often we get some cool traffic flying in, Like this A-1 Skyraider.

Here are some from the recent Wings of Freedom tour.  The flag shots are actually from my front yard, and the sweet P-51 shot was taken by the wife.

Wife just called me to let me know that 3 Ospreys just flew into Gillespie.  Said they shook the entire house.  No idea what they are doing there.

back in May during the fires in San Diego County, some of the private helos being used overnighted there. I was able to get some photos early in the morning...

AHHHHH, you got them!!  I saw that too during the fires we had a while back.  I remember driving home during the last hazy minutes of sunlight and seeing 4 heavy lift helicopters all lined up on 27L.  I thought to myself now that is a picture!!!!  I was going to run home and grab the camera and see if i could get a good shot of the 4 in a line, but...Dad duties were being called into play and i didn't get the chance.  Freaking kids always getting in the way!!!

yeah, sorry for the delay. Thought I had lost them. Somehow when I loaded them onto the computer, I put them in a folder, which was somehow put in a 2nd folder, then a 3rd folder How the heck did I do that?.

Congrats to Matt Guthmiller for becoming the youngest person to ever solo around the world in a plane (19 years old).
