The Mojave flightline will be open for all visitors (for free) Saturday 2/21 from 10 am to 2 pm for the second monthly Plane Crazy Saturday. Anyone (especially folks who have vintage or homebuilt aircraft) is invited to fly in and display their aircraft. The Voyager Restaurant will be serving breakfast and lunch. Here's a pic of last months doings.

Alan is that Voodoo 1 waaayyy in the back there? The 727? Looks interesting to go to one of these.
No such luck...just a plain jane all-white 727 freighter that was coming out of a C-check at FTA. Here's a pic with it in it, my target was the rather unusual rainbow, not the plane, which is why the composition isn't ideal.

Very cool :)
Despite the high overcast, 53 aircraft showed up for this month's Plane Crazy Saturday at Mojave, including Dick Rutan's new one-of-a-kind Lycoming Thunderbolt-powered Berkut. Hopefully the shooting conditions will be better next month! (More pics on will be up on my blog shortly).

The March "Plane Crazy Saturday" was announced today...it'll be Saturday, March 21 - same deal as before, public invited, free admission, hours 10 to 2.
Ok, think back to when you were a kid and someone took you to an airport for the first time....
Thanks to a great article in the AV Press yesterday, a lot more families came to this month's Plane Crazy Saturday. I just love the old fashioned family atmosphere that this thing has taken on.
