Here are three shots from yesterday from Plant 42.
The Spirit of Pennsylvania on it's way to the Rose Parade and two of the Spirit of Missouri.
Way to go Jim ;D I saw the others on Fencecheck ;)
I saw the Spirit of Missouri Fly over the The Rose Bowl Stadium Just after the USC Marching Band completed the National Anthum. The flyover was seen live on ABC TV
Saw it in HD on KTLA. I could sort of make out the s/n as **-1087. Great shots Jim and welcome aboard.
Nice pic's Jim! ;)
Thanks guys!
This was my 3rd Rose Bowl with a B-2 flyover. (Every B-2 flyover has been a USC Trojan victory!)
It was by far, the best and the lowest of any one I've seen. Just AWESOME!
The pilot started the run with the speed brakes out at the begining of the Star Bangled Banner, and I thought he was going to be early!
He descended down below my sightline and must have been in idle power the entire time.
As he came over I took one "atmosphere" shot with my point and shoot, and then put the camera down to enjoy the moment.
As he came overhead, he was so slow and low you could read the markings on the MLG doors, and you could BARELY hear the engines. It was like he "whisphered" over.
Then afterward, he came back over the stadium at a much higher altitude, and did a beautiful bank above the stadium with the sun shining off the bottom.
Like I said, best B-2 "flyby" I've ever seen.

There we go, great shot ;D
Someone filmed the flyover from the hills with a radio scanner. (the link came from airshowbuzz)

You can here the guy on the ground singing and giving the pilots his TOTs.
Again, AWESOME.

I was at the Pasedena Police heliport when the B 2 flew over. There were quite a few people there and the plane was LOW. Everyone was in awe of the Aircraft.....it was the first time i saw a B-2 up close....amazing , simple incredible. Im not sure what impressed me more , the F-22 at Miramar or seeing the B-2 fly over.....OK , the F-22....but that B-2 is dammed cool.
Heres a shot of the Rose Bowl at about 10am ......From a Jetranger , not a B-2

Oh yea , once the B-2 landed after its flyby , a LA County Fire FIREHAWK flew the B-2 crew back to the Rose bowl from Palmdale....it landed at Pasedenas Heliport and the crew drove to the bowl. It would of been cool if they let the Hawk land in the middle of the bowl.

Thanks! My wife and I wondered how they got from Plat 42 to the Bowl so fast.
They were introduced in the 3rd quarter to the crowd.
This year is is the 20th Anniv of the B-2's first flight.

Wow cool all around. Wow 20 years already......
I got very lucky to catch this one. It was April of 2008, the very first day the B-2 was flying again after the crash on Guam. I was flying along at 10.5k as a passenger in a Rockwell Commander when I spotted it, and was quick enough to get my camera up for the shot. I missed a U-2 just minutes later.

I remember seeing that photo in your book at Riverside, very cool 8)
Here's APSoCal'er Jim Mumaw (aka gfydad) going for the perfect shot at today's B-2 20th Anniversary event!
I think Jim got into a handful of amusing shots this morning, lol. Here are a few of mine. I ended up sitting 10 feet away from Bruce Hinds and Stephanie Edwards, kinda cool. Northrop VP and B-2 program mgr, Dave Mazur, the mc so to speak, drove up on the "stealth bike". And yes there was a flyby, however they weren't calling it that, they were referring to it as a well-timed training mission.... :D

I dunno about that...at least you get rained on and cooled off! It was 105 out there, and NG didn't have any tents or shade set up...luckiest guys were the two security guards who got to stand under each wingtip. Here's a couple more of mine, including one of Brian shooting one of his...
One more of Jim
It seems like you guys had fun, great shots btw. <apscs>
It was a great time with fine hosts!
Here are some... In the first one, you've got the bike, the static and, if you look closely above the cockpit, the flyby. :D
Hey, Jim, I think I found "Barney". Check out the guard on the right of this first shot. Looks like he's ready to draw like an old west gunslinger, lol. Also, check out the hat that Dave is wearing (Chief of Stealth Police). I don't know who the blonde woman is, but she's cute! And the USAF guy is Col Dawkins from the 509th at Whiteman.
Great shots guys! ;)
GREAT SHOTS <thumbsup>
Awesome! <apsocals>
Here's a few more from Friday......the fourth photo (bike and bomber) was a bit "fixed". One lady just would not get out of the way while I was trying to get a nice people-free shot of just the bike and the B-2, so I had to keep waiting for her to step aside. Well I got what I thought was the perfect shot, but her hand got in the frame on the right side at the last second, so I went into my photo editing software (Digital Image Suite 10) and basically erased her hand and then had to pretty much try and recreate what was behind her hand in the background. I think it came out ok for posting on the web, but I still have to go back and try to clone in a flap on image's right side.

Pretty cool shot Michael, what do you shoot with?
Hey there-- I shoot Canon-- this was done with the 50d and the 100-400F4LIS it's my main airshow glass. I shoot Raw and Process in Canon DPP- then re-fine in Lightroom 2.3
Great shots guys, would have loved to have been there :'(
Tweaked this one from the Plant 42 thread and am very pleased. :)
