Title: NASA DC-8 Fly over South Bay
Post by: phantomphan1974 on June 22, 2008, 11:37:02 AM
Did anyone else see it beside me? About 9:30 ish.  If I had had my camera.  Flew over PV toward ocean.

Ok, from what I have found out, it was a test flight involving "sensitive" equipment for AQ tests. That's why it was marked as "Not To Be Seen" The flight plan was as follows:

Left Palmdale to LAX VOR @ 0820, got to LAX VOR @ 0900. From LAX VOR to ocean operations areas, then off to VTU VOR (Ventura/Point Mugu) then Ops will continue up north to Arcata/Eureka then down to San Fran, to LAX, then to Mojave.

Wow thanks Josh for the info.  It was really cool to see and the DC-8 is one of those classics like the 707.
