Title: From your yard
Post by: Aguillard on April 09, 2012, 06:24:18 PM
Have any of you just sat around your yard/property all day and photograph all of the aircraft that fly over or fly by? Do any of you keep at list of what you've seen/photographed?

I'm going to start. Since I live on a hill in National City, I can see Lindberg's approach, and many military aircraft flying by. Last week, I had AV-8's flying by, on their way to the Padres home opener., and have had a B-17 fly by once or twice fro the Wings over Gillespi show.

I live in Santee, under the flight path of Gillespie Field. You can just imagine what I can see from that, and when the "Wings" show is going lots of interesting aircraft, if I'm not there myself.

We get CH-53s from MCAS Miramar flying overhead many time a day. And commercial aircraft crossing on the southern leg from the coast to do their swing over San Miguel Mountain are seen many times a day also.

I am near KTOA, Torrance so I see various little things come in there and also the usual suspects like John Collver's SNJ, USCG Dolphin, resident CJ-6's and P-51D, Robinson Helicopters test flights, etc.  LASD A-Stars sometimes, LACOFD gos in to Torrance Memorial helipad.

I sometimes sit out in my backyard and read and watch planes, but your location is a lot more exciting than mine, unless you like SW 737's on the ILS to BUR all the time :)
