Centennial of Naval Aviation Festival
China Lake will open a portion of Armitage Field to the public for an afternoon of family-friendly fun that will include:
Static aircraft displays and pilots from China Lake's experimental and operational test squadrons VX-31 and VX-9
Fire equipment demonstrations from China Lake Fire Department
Bomb truck, bomb suit and robot displays from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit THREE
Live music from the Paid in Full band
Food and drink booths
Vendor booths
Kids Zone including climbing wall, bounce houses and obstacle course
And, more!
Date: Saturday, Oct. 15
Location: Armitage Field, NAWS China Lake
Time: 11 a.m to 4 p.m.
Cost: Admission is FREE. Food and vendor items will be available for purchase.

Sandquist gate, located on China Lake Blvd./Sandquist Road, will open at 10:30 a.m. for base access and parking. Event (airfield) gates will open at 11 a.m.

Back in the day I saw the Blue Angels at China Lake--they were still flying Skyhawks. It would be so cool if they came back.

The last official air show was back in 1993 - one of the best in house show put on, the airpower demo(10 Hornets,A-6,NTA-4,EA-6B,Harriers,& huey cobras from VX-5 & VX-31. 20 TIMES better than Miramar MAGTF!
