Sorry for the quality of the photo but this guy was way out beyond my 100-400. Anyone know what it is and if it's a common aircraft? I would like to get some closer shots of it.
Piaggio P-180 Avanti.

Its a homebuilt based at Camarillo. It was at the show last year.
Is it like a Harrier?
Either a VTOL, STOL or VSTOL.
Sounds cool!

This one as you can imagine drew quite a crowd. It is a vertical takeoff and land experimental. Don't know the proper name of it.
At the Camarillo airshow 2007, the owner was in the process of getting it certified to fly. I hope some day we will see it in the air. I did get to see it powered up and watched it taxi back to its hanger. A few more photos should tell the story....<heliguy>
