Title: Randolph AFB
Post by: gfydad on May 18, 2010, 11:12:52 AM
Air Education and Training Command is headquartered at Randolph. Here's a shot of some of those in the directorate (there are about 450 total).

My daughter, Katrina, is front row left. She's XO for Maj Gen Whitmore who's in the center. Two of the three BGens she works with in her office are to his right.

On the 28th, I'll be back there to see her get promoted to captain!  ;D

Katrina flew me back to Randolph so I could be there and pin on her new bars on Friday.
She was promoted in front of the directorate of AETC (about 430 or so including three generals, a passel of colonels, lieutenant colonels, majors, captains, etc...
Maj Gen Whitmore had been called away to DC so BGen Kendall promoted Katrina.

First shot is Gen Kendall telling stories on Katrina. Second is of Katrina & Gen Kendall. Third is the oath. Last is Katrina addressing the directorate.

Thanks guys!  :)

She's a member of the General Staff at Randolph AFB as the XO for the directorate for AETC and also dirctorate's Nuclear Integration & Intelligence sections. She was chosen for this post as a 1Lt and has been doing it for a year. The slot is normally occupied either by an 04 or 04 select. She's currently scheduled to be the XO thru November which is longer than usual, but the Generals want her to be on hand to help maintain continuity as there are upcoming changes with some of the head positions there.

Prior to that at Randolph, she was a test psychologist which meant she would take a Senior NCO specialty promotion test and tear it down and then, working with Senior NCOs in that specialty, built a new and better one. Just through osmosis, she learned a lot about the Air Force. She's due to finish her Master's this September and her long term goal is to go back to instruct at USAFA (she's an '06 T+RTB Grad). Her major was Human Factors Engineering so I imagine that is what she will wat to instruct.

Oh yeah... she also runs marathons and half marathons and tutors at an adult school in San Antonio.

Official title...
Capt, USAF
Executive Officer, AETC/A2/3/10
